Visita al Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, en Ciudad Obregón

Antes de volver a casa pasé por el Santuario de Guadalupe, en la calle Galeana del centro de Ciudad Obregón. Quería ver el órgano que envié desde Arizona para que se usara en las liturgias del santuario. El lugar es amplio y, al parecer, solo abre para las misas dominicales. El “santuario viejo” tiene capacidad para unas 150–200 personas; es una capilla muy bonita.

Alguien me reconoció y me dijo que en breve habría un funeral; me pidieron que cantara porque no tenían coro ni músicos para la misa. No pude quedarme, pues tenía que salir de la ciudad, pero ayudé con el canto de entrada. Ojalá pueda escuchar el órgano cuando vuelva a Ciudad Obregón.

Before heading home I stopped by the Guadalupe Sanctuary on calle Galeana in downtown Ciudad Obregón. I wanted to see the organ I had sent from Arizona for use in the sanctuary’s liturgies. The building is spacious and, it seems, only opens for Sunday Masses. The “old sanctuary” adjacent to the new one seats about 150–200 people; it’s a very pretty chapel.

Someone recognized me and mentioned there would soon be a funeral; they asked me to sing because they had no choir or musicians for the Mass. I couldn’t stay, as I had to leave town, but I helped with the entrance hymn. I hope I can hear the organ the next time I return to Ciudad Obregón.
